Dr. Darrin is a proud father of four and has been in private practice with his wife, Tempest Thorvaldson, RMT, his whole practice career. He is a former elite level athlete and soccer player, which is where his chiropractic journey began. He started seeing a chiropractor as a young teenager to help with injuries and to keep him healthy and on the field. Now, regular Chiropractic care has been a staple in his health for over 30 years.

In practice, Dr. Darrin has a passion for learning about the neurology of the brain and its effect on chronic health issues for the old and young. This has led him to train in a multitude of chiropractic techniques such as Network Spinal Analysis and Torque Release Technique. He is constantly learning, even this far into his career, to provide the highest quality of care for each one of his patients.

He also volunteers his time and health expertise with the local sports clubs in the south end of the city. He is available to speak to community groups, school classes, businesses, and sports teams on a variety of health and wellness topics including, but not limited to, stress management, nutrition, environment, and emotional impact in health. “The best part of being a Chiropractor is working with the body’s innate wisdom. We all have an amazing power within us that when fully expressed allows us to live the most incredible, fulfilling lives!”

Dr. Barton is trained in the tonally based chiropractic technique called Torque Release Technique. TRT uses neurological reflexes to detect areas of spinal cord distortion and pressure, which are then released using a low force, gentle and specific adjustment.

“A nervous system free of long term stress patterns allows one to reach their full potential on all levels; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually!”

Having been under chiropractic care since Dr. Barton was a child herself, she is particularly passionate about providing care for families. Dr. Barton has continued her education through the International Pediatric Association of Chiropractic (ICPA) where she has been certified in pre-natal and pediatric care, including Webster’s technique.

“I absolutely love working with families and find it such an honor to guide mothers through their sacred journey of bringing life into this world!”
Committed to giving back to those in need, Dr. Barton supports The Chiropractic Cancer Foundation for Children. Contact our office today for more information.

Mylène Gagné, Certified Athletic Therapist

Hello! I’m Mylène Gagné. I graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, specializing in Athletic Therapy. I certified with the Canadian Athletic Therapists’ Association and became an Athletic Therapist in that same year.

I have always had a passion for sports and helping people. I grew up playing competitive soccer my entire life, along with other high school sports such as volleyball, basketball and track and field. This career has the best of both worlds, I get to work in a sporting environment, and help people get back to their desired activities after an injury. I strongly believe that movement is medicine. I encourage exercising along with manual therapy in my practice to promote a healthy lifestyle and reduce the risk of injury when going about your daily life.

I have worked with people from all different walks of life. From having had the privilege to work with elite level- athletes to those recovering from a car accident.

My goal with any patient is to create a safe environment, educate them on their injury, and guide them along their recovery to get patients feeling better than they did before.
